Hope

I made a detour to walk past a few study benches today.

I was looking for a girl who I had only seen there once.

She's not from our faculty.

I don't have her contacts.

But I had seen her there before.

I know I cling on to the unlikely hope of ever seeing her there again,

but that's the only hope that I have to cling on to.

I walked through the area twice.

She was not there today.

She was not here yesterday.

I brought something to give to her today.

I'll bring it again next week.

And I'll be back here next week.

Just in case she is.
