The massive jam along the CTE last night was believed to be caused by a large number of cars jamming on their brakes before the ERP gantry. Traffic was reduced to a crawl during the last minute before the ERP gantry went off at 10.30pm local time. Motorcycles stopped along the shoulder, cars filtered to the slower lanes and everyone packed closely together. Interestingly no one got upset with the jam- the only person using his horn was asking other cars to slow down.
Traffic conditions were clear after the gantry, and after 10.30pm.
